Help & FAQ

Before you order

The questions we answer most on the phone. Still not sure? Send us the label off the old battery and we’ll match it.

Phone support for orders and fitment.

How do I know which battery fits?

Match four things from the old battery: voltage, capacity (Ah), terminal type and case size. Enter your device in the battery finder, type the part number printed on the old battery into search, or measure the case with the dimension lookup.

Can I use a battery with more amp-hours?

Usually, yes. Keep the same voltage and terminal, and make sure the case fits the cabinet or tray. A higher Ah rating in the same case gives longer runtime; check that your charger or panel can recharge the larger capacity in the time it allows.

What is the difference between F1 and F2 terminals?

Both are flat quick-connect tabs. F1 is 0.187 in (4.75 mm) wide; F2 is 0.250 in (6.35 mm). Your device’s connectors only fit one of them, so match the old battery. Our terminal guide has drawings of each type.

How often should alarm and fire panel batteries be replaced?

Sealed lead-acid batteries in standby service typically last 3 to 5 years. For fire alarm systems, NFPA 72 requires the month and year of manufacture on the battery and replacement within 5 years of that date. Every Casil battery is date-coded.

Is there a warranty?

Casil sealed lead-acid batteries carry a 1-year pro-rated warranty. Warranty terms for each battery are listed on its product page; see shipping, returns & warranty for how to make a claim.
